Continental Expansion Storehouse

The project is an expansion of an existing facility in Tianjin and will primarily consist of warehouse space for the storage of high quality automotive electrical parts. The building will incorporate inspection rooms, storehouses and office areas.
Cockram was engaged by Continental to provide an EPCM consulting service which involved the URS preparation and review of the design documentation prepared by a local Chinese Design Institute. Our service continued on into a full construction management delivery where CPL engineers were provided to the site to supervise and manage all site activities, including Safety, Quality, Time and Cost. The project was completed in January 2012 and achieved all client objectives.
Boehringer Ingelheim Panda Project

The project is the enlargement of the production and packaging capacity of Boehringer Ingelheim’s (BI) existing Shanghai site, to fulfill the requirements of the Chinese market and other regional markets. The total constructed new building area is approximately 17,000m2 for this current phase due for completion in 2013. Cockram’s role is the Procurement and Construction Management Company responsible for the execution and delivery.
The scope of the project includes Four new major buildings & two smaller buildings including an Ampoule & Solids packaging building (APP), a High-Bay Warehouse (HBW), a Centre of Competence (CoC), a New Canteen (CAN), a New hazardous goods store building (HGS), and a New south gate house (SGH). Also included are modifications for a new shipping & receiving area, a new QA/QC Lab, alterations to site infrastructure (e.g. new 4000KVa substation) and Alterations to roads & parking.
Due to the project being constructed on a fully operational pharmaceutical manufacturing site, extensive planning and great care has been required to ensure facility operations will not be impacted. Heavy construction will occur beside the existing facility and the team will not only deal with many constructability issues, but also need to make adequate consideration of the many GMP and regulatory issues to ensure the daily site operations are not impacted.
Australian Red Cross Blood Service

Fitout of an existing building for the purpose of blood processing, production, sampling and administration for the Australian Red Cross Blood Service. The facility is the Victorian and Tasmanian Principal Site (VTPS) of the ARCBS. The scope included all fitout and services, including the provision of all new plant and equipment to approximately 16,500m2 with a Basement, Ground Floor, First Floor and Second Floor. Consisting of Offices, staff breakout and meeting rooms, Reception, Laboratories, warehousing, Cool & Freezer rooms, Plant areas and landscaping.
IKEA Showroom and Warehouse Store

The 39,000 sqm store (equivalent to 20 football fields) with car parking for 1775 cars and 2.5 km of shopping, sits on a 2.3 hectare site and is located in Tempe – South West of Sydney CBD.
The two level rectangular shaped building comprises:
- A bulky goods showroom
- Unlicensed restaurant (approximate capacity for 750 people)
- Children’s play area
- Warehouse
- Swedish food market
- Office space
- Public amenities and loading dock.
The project is unique in that it was constructed on an old rubbish tip site. A seven hundred metre methane gas wall was constructed to allow ventilation of the methane gases underneath a portion of the new building.
The existing heritage listed ATECO building and clock tower has been retained for use as IKEA’s headquarters, which will ensure the local character and visual amenity of the area is conserved. The project design is also highly focused on encouraging the pedestrian and cycle traffic to IKEA through the use of regional cycle paths through the site.
Minerals Accommodation and Laboratories (Bldg 21B)

Located within the Australia Nuclear Science and Technology Organisations (ANSTO) Lucas Heights facility, the project works include the construction of a new laboratory and an extension to the existing mineral accommodation building. In continuing our long standing relationship with ANSTO, this will be Cockram Constructions 11th project undertaken with the organisation.
CSR Gyprocket Project

Streets Icecream Factory Extension

Unilever’s Streets Icecream factory in Minto had reached its production limits after ten years of operation. Cockram was awarded the contract to design and construct an extension to the existing ice cream production facility building. The project consisted of a 1,500sqm building extension to accommodate the new stick line and a flexible line for Thickshake, Bulk and Viennetta. Cockram’s scope included constructing a new ring road capable to carry B-double trucks. We also provided new hydraulic and mechanical services to the new food grade extension.
Existing equipment was relocated and a new tank farm was constructed on a suspended mezzanine designed for low temperatures.
Masterfoods Manufacturing Facility Expansion

Cockram were the Project Managers on behalf of Masterfoods to undertake the facility expansion of their Wyong Plant. The upgrade consisted of construction works to increase food packaging and production areas in the east bay and de-palletisation of work areas. Undercover truck housing was constructed for the unloading of raw materials and extensive additions to the existing road network were also required. The works also involved the construction of a new bin wash facility, installation of the kitchen awning and extensions to the amenities building.
McCain Foods French Fry Manufacturing Facility

Design and construction of McCain’s Greenfield French fry processing facility in Harbin Heilongjiang Province, capable of producing 7.5 tonnes of French Fries per hour.
Green’s Foods Manufacturing Consolidation

The purpose of the manufacturing consolidation project for Green’s Foods was to consolidate all food production activities within Green’s facility at Glendenning. This building has the following functions: head office for Green’s Foods Limited, storage of raw materials, production of food products and storage of finished product. On completion of the consolidation project, the finished product storage area within the building included food production lines relocated from the other western Sydney premises. All the works were carried out within an operating food manufacturing environment where food safety and hygiene standards were maintained throughout the project, with nil unscheduled production outages.
