Car Park

IKEA Showroom and Warehouse Store

The 39,000 sqm store (equivalent to 20 football fields) with car parking for 1775 cars and 2.5 km of shopping, sits on a 2.3 hectare site and is located in Tempe – South West of Sydney CBD.
The two level rectangular shaped building comprises:
- A bulky goods showroom
- Unlicensed restaurant (approximate capacity for 750 people)
- Children’s play area
- Warehouse
- Swedish food market
- Office space
- Public amenities and loading dock.
The project is unique in that it was constructed on an old rubbish tip site. A seven hundred metre methane gas wall was constructed to allow ventilation of the methane gases underneath a portion of the new building.
The existing heritage listed ATECO building and clock tower has been retained for use as IKEA’s headquarters, which will ensure the local character and visual amenity of the area is conserved. The project design is also highly focused on encouraging the pedestrian and cycle traffic to IKEA through the use of regional cycle paths through the site.

Sunshine Hospital TTR and Radiotherapy

The construction of the new Teaching, Training and Research (TTR) Facility, Radiotherapy building and redevelopment of the area known as ‘Mount Sunshine’.

The TTR Facility includes a new main lobby, reception and function area, a clinical school, a library, office accommodation, wet labs and clinical trials labs, a 200 seat auditorium, lecture theatre, tutorial rooms, student lounge, a short term animal storage and a metabolic gym, and the Radiotherapy Building is a 2700m2 single level building fully fitted out which has been structurally designed for a further three levels to be added in future developments.  It consists of treatment rooms (CT & Ortho Voltage rooms and Linear Accelerator bunkers), day beds, administration offices, planning areas, main foyer and all associated staff and patient support areas.

The projects were constructed whilst sections of the existing hospital remained operational.

Ropes Crossing Neighbourhood Centre

The Ropes Crossing Neighbourhood Centre was constructed on a 12,340 square metre greenfield site and is part of the development of the old ammunitions factory land at St Mary’s.  The works included :Coles supermarket, specialty shops, on-grade car parking for 184 vehicles, landscaping to the car park and open areas, shade structure to the car park and utility infrastructure to and around the development.  The project was handed over in three separate stages to allow tenancy fitout to be completed in time for Christmas trading.

Box Hill Hospital Spring Street Building

Two basement levels and five above-ground levels of car park, four levels of offices, dialysis clinics, consulting suites and laboratories constructed specifically with the ability to test blood, breath and food.

Melbourne Airport Short Term Carpark

Construction of a three storey concrete structure carpark, providing undercover parking for 3,500 cars, serviced by four ramps for vehicle entry and exit, three
service cores consisting of stairs, toilets and six elevators plus eight fire escape stairs.  The project was carried out in two stages with Stage 1 completed December 1996 to allow access to Stage 2. The carpark also comprised one of the most sophisticated car operating access and counting equipment plus high-tech security monitoring facilities.
