Blacktown Cricket/AFL Stadium

Constructed with Blacktown City Council, the Cricket/AFL Stadium located at Blacktown Olympic Park, comprises a 1,500-seat grandstand with the option to expand to a 20,000-seat capacity in the future, a 250-seat function room and kitchen.  Other works included a series of players facilities and media offices, a separate 1000sqm indoor practice centre and an amenities building with club room.  The new grandstand and associated buildings incorporate environmentally sustainable design principles.  Greywater recycling has been incorporated for irrigation and toilet flushing while all internal spaces use mixed-mode air-conditioning.  Natural daylight is encouraged through the use of skylights, shaded by the photovoltaic panels lining the north, reducing the need for air conditioning and decreasing energy usage where possible.  Thermal mass is managed internally with the use of concrete block and insulated walls externally.  There is also extensive on-site stormwater management where water quality ponds hold, filter and clean stormwater run-off.
